The story is about Reserves coach Syd Dufall and how he has blended experienced players with up and coming stars. The reserves side opened the season brilliantly with a string of victories and sitting at the top of the table. After coaching several winning colts sides Dufall has moved up to coach the reserves. Working alongside Graham Moss is a challenging task and so is the role of mentor.
Players who won promotion from the reserves this year include Warren Ralph, Michael Aitken, Cam Lewis, Baden harper and mark Watson. Others waiting for a crack include Colin Barns, Kim Bevan, Glen Binder, Neil Hansen and Sam Sadlier. Victorian recruit Peter Ivanoff is a good example of how senir players can adapt and adopt the right attitude. Ivanoff has trouble breaking into the league side with the solid form of Kanther.
