1989. With the idea of a second team to play in the VFL, the Claremont team has supplied 16 of its former players to play in the current VFL competition. If a second team is to get a license, they would be the best to support a second team.
The team would be extremely good when you add a number of classy players currently playing for Claremont. The team suggested would be : Steve Malaxos, Geoff Miles, Grant Povey, Guy McKenna, ken Hunter, Chris lewis, Michael Mitchell, Wayne Blackwell, Phil Krakouer, Derek Kickett, Mark Hepburn, Peter Thorne, Don Pyke, Warren Ralph, Peter Melesso, David O’Connell, John Annear, Jim Krakouer, Peter Higgins, Steven Goulding, Tony Beers, Peter Davidson and Michael O’Connell.
Add some of the current Claremont players ben Allan, John Scott, Billy Krakouer, Mark Hann and Dale Kickett.
