Ross Ditchburn played 110 games for Claremont between 1975-1980. Stories:

“Keyman- Ditchburn back to his best”.  The return of Ditchburn throws an entirely different light on Claremont’s chances of a premiership. It means that Graham Moss can return to the ruck where he is needed more and Ditchburn  can return to centre-half-forward where he is needed most.  He played with flair and enterprise and his ability in the air and kicking will create plenty of trouble for defenders in the upcoming finals. Ditchburn’s loss of form was around the time of problems with his farm. Claremont arranged for a team of contractors to work on the farm so Ditchburn could go down to the club on Thursady nights and return to the farm after the game.  This allowed him to be more relaxed and last week he played one of the best games of his career.

The return of Ross Ditchburn has solved one of the issues with the loss of form of Norm Uncle. They decided to play Ditchburn at full-forward but play him out further also playing the role of centre half forward.  Brenton Hartfield played centre half forward but he was to play further out on the flank.  This left room for Ditchburn to run into as well as lead for the Krakouer brothers.
