Michael Mitchell played 88 games for Claremont between 1982 – 1986.  Three stories and photos:

1986 “In Action ” in Budget, a profile of Mitchell who that week had a brilliant return to form. He dis-located an elbow in a pre-season game and missed the first three weeks. After a couple of games and finding his feet he returned to the form of old which saw him win the 1984 Sandover medal with Steve Malaxos and Peter Spencer.

“The key Men, Mitchell shows team commitment”. There is no doubt about the courage and team commitment of Michael Mitchell.  Mitchell is an All Australian rover and has displayed that ethos in the recent WAFL games.

“Mighty Mitchell” completed a fairy tale transition from country football to senior competition when he represented WA for the first time last Saturday. In the second half when placed on the wing he displayed all his attributes.  He is one of the fastest men playing football and used all the pace and speed to be extremely creative on the field.
