Book- Heroes with Haloes- Russell Holmesby – Verdun Howell.
A book was written by Russell Holmesby and it looked at the top 100 greatest players who played for St. Kilda in the VFL. Three players involved with St. Kilda and later Claremont are Coach Verdun Howell.
Verdun Howell coached Claremont between 1972 – 1974. He played 159 games for St. Kilda from 1958 – 1968. He missed out on the Brownlow by a countback , however, was later awarded a retrospective Brownlow medal.
