Ken Casellas covered the first test at the WACA in 1970 – 71 signed off when WA won their most recent Sheffield Shield in 1988-89 will be recognised at the annual Laurie Sawle Medal function when the Ken Casellas Award is presented to the most outstanding media performer of the season. Casellas is credited with inventing the modern system of collating football statistics, is a Claremont Football director and member of the MCG media hall of fame.
