2009, June 8, The West Australian, article headline ” Wilkes and Claremont in their best form”. Photograph of Claremont’s Beau Wilkes leading his East Perth opponent Tom Howlett to the ball.
It was the 26 minute mark of the last quarter and Claremont had already secured the win over East Perth and were leading by 56 points. Beau Wilkes had made a triumphant return after his month suspension. Most players were waiting for the siren, but not Wilkes who launched another ferocious attack on the ball that threatened the well being of both himself and any other player of the opposition. It was typical of his best on ground performance. Other great players were Chad Jones, Ian Richardson, James Staples and Casey Sibisado.
