McPhee left Queensland 10 months ago to head to Perth to follow his dream of being a league coach He was promoted to the league side with the sacking of Kerr. McPhee is one of the very few coaches of a league side to be appointed as head coach without playing at league level.

Ken Venables the President of The Claremont Football Club stated that ‘ there is no onee more passionate or dedicated to coaching than Roger Kerr. Kerr has given the Club everything but unfortunately we have not gotten the results we were hoping for”.
