2008, April 14, West Australian, Story and Photo, heading “Jones puts case for Eagle recall” and photo of Ian Richardson too strong for the Royals Michael Swan.   Claremont have had problems with finding key forwards, the good news for new Claremont coach is he has a good one in Chad Jones.  Claremont defeated East Perth 20.13 to 9.6 on Saturday.  Jones approaching full fitness puled in 9 marks and finished with 7.4. from his 16 disposals. It was obvious from the start that Jones and David Crawford were going to have a massive day out. The pair combined for all of Claremont’s 6 first quarter goals. Wilkes led a strong defence and with the midfielders Michael Cousens, Clancy Rudeforth, Andrew Browne and Ian Rowe played extremely well.
