2006, April 17, The West, Photo and story under headline “Toia ready to make debut for Claremont”. Photo of Clancy Rudeforth who has slipped back in the line up after missing all last season. Former Fremantle and Subiaco mid fielder Luke Toai will notch his first game for Claremont against East Perth today. Toia completed a full pre-season but played in the reserves for the first two games getting over some niggling injuries. Toia 28 played his last game for Subiaco in their losing Grand Final in 2003 and notched 81 games with the Lions and 63 with Fremantle. He lined up with SANFL Clubs North Adelaide and Woodville-Torrens in 2004 and 2005 before returning to WA.
