2005, September 6, The West Australian, Story and photo under headline “Tiger Wilson hits his straps”.  Unconventional Claremont forward Leon “Barrell” Wilson shapes as a difficult opponent for defending premiers Subiaco in the preliminary final.   The robust left footer has experienced something of a renaissance since taking up with the Tigers before the 2003 season.  he started with the colts and reserves with Swans before consecutive knee injuries in 2000 forced him out of the game.  A season with Wembley was enough to rekindle interest to have another tilt at the AFL.

Ash Prescott has given Wilson a license to run up into the play as a fifth on baller.
