2004, May 24, West Australian, Story and Photo, heading ” Tigers get winning goal after siren row” and WAFL statistics.   Claremont held on for a tense 2 point victory over East Perth in a controversial finish at Leederville Oval.  Tiger midfielder Andrew Browne appeared to mark a floating ball seconds before the siren to end the match.  But there was confusion between the umpires, players and officials about whether Browne had completed the mark before what was described as an inadequate and feeble siren.  Browne was eventually allowed to take his free kick amid jeers from a disbelieving East Perth crowd and irate Royals players.  The Claremont player’s unerring finish from 50 metres out handed Claremont a 14.11 to Eat Perth 14.9.  Livewire Browne never stopped trying and with him , best players were Myles Quinn, Clancy Rudeforth, Jaxon Crabb, Ben Cunningham, Trent Carroll, Greg Harding and Trent Martin.
