2001, June 4, West Australian Newspaper, Story and photo under headline “Colreavy born to play for Claremont”.  Photo of Ben Colreavy and his father in the Claremont changerooms as he prepares for a game.  The name Colreavy is best remembered in football circles for a famous incident in August 1976 involving John Colreavy and Claremont coach Mal Brown.  Colreavy’s son Ben is fast making his own name after a series of dazzling midfield performances for Claremont.

Brown sent John Colreavy back onto the ground to replace an injured player against West Perth at  Leederville in 1976, 2 years before the interchange.  Brown subsequently resigned as coach of Claremont. Colreavy has ben one of the standout midfielders this year.
