The name Colreavy is best remembered in football circles for a famous incident in August 1976 involving John Colreavy and Claremont coach Mal Brown. Colreavy’s son Ben is fast making his own name after a series of dazzling midfield performances for Claremont.
Brown sent John Colreavy back onto the ground to replace an injured player against West Perth at Leederville in 1976, 2 years before the interchange. Brown subsequently resigned as coach of Claremont. Colreavy has ben one of the standout midfielders this year.
