1994, July 15, Sunday Times, Story and Photo “Tigers face rough road”. Claremont mid-fielder Jamie Merillo had high hopes for a change of luck in 1994 after a successful pre-season campaign. Merillo was in sparkling touch for his new Club in the Emu Export Cup and was a member of the team that defeated Subiaco in the grand final. Merillo 21, missed three weeks of the season with a thigh injury. The run of outs continued when he bruised his ribs when he came back through the reserves. he played 14 games for West Perth under the father son rule. he parted company with the falcons due to lack of opportunity and too far to training.
