Three pages in relation to this story for the preview of the round 19 Pepsi Cup Round and the celebrations for the commemoration of the 1964 Grand Final. There is a one off game at Claremont Oval to celebrate the 30 years since the 1964 grand final. 1964 side was coached by Jim Conway. Claremont returned to good form last week and Mark Brayshaw and Darrell Panizza reigned supreme and Brad Wira and Anthony Jones continually ran the ball out of defence. Other midfielders to dominate were Garry Edwards, Darren Klemm, Rob Malone and Quenton Leach.
‘Veteran has a big game query’ When asked to play in the Legends match from the 1964 Grand Final, Les Mumme said yes. He was not sure playing was the correct word probably waddling. It wasn’t just winning the 1964 grand final that was the big thing with the public, it was that Jim Conway brought them from the easy beats in 1963 to the premiers. It appeared the Tigers luck had come to an end late in the grand final before Ian Brewer piped up with 2 late goals.
