1993, September 20, Western Australian Newspaper, heading ” Falcons run into Claremont’s wall”. A photograph is attached to the story as Darrell Panizza leads Claremont off the ground after the Grand Final yesterday. He is flanked by Brendan Green and Joe Smith. Claremont’s half bad center line took only a quarter to set up a wall to stop West Perth and win the game. Daniel Southern, Dale Kickett and Darrell Panizza were impenetrable at half back while Rob Malone, Brendan Green Scott and Gary Edwards and Mark Hann siezed control oof the midfield.
Darren Klemm and Paul Morgan provided plenty and kicked the first 5 goals for Claremont. Joe Smith added some life and it all went to Gerard Neesham”s plan.
