1993, August 8, Sunday Times Newspaper, heading ” Tigers show perfect timing in run home”.  Gerard Neesham’s Claremont is the team to beat for this years premiership after a methodical defeat of league leaders Swan Districts yesterday.  Claremont who have now entered the top 5 now turned on a polished performance to beat Swans 18.16 to 8.8.  Centreman Rob Malone collected 36 possessions in a best on ground performance.  He established a clear control across the centre with Scott Edwards and mark Hann.   However the win came at a price with injuries to Clinton Wolf and Dale Kickett.  Claremont’s turnaround is a coaching triumph for Neesham.  This turnaround comes after some deep thinking and a meeting with his match committee 6 weeks ago.

Gutsy Brendan Henry, Darrell Panizza, Quenton leach and Kickett were all star defenders.  Chris Gerreyn, Joe Smith and Paul Morgan were sure targets up forward while Kevin Mitchell and darren Klemm were constant dangers at ground level.  David Muir was also one of the strongest men at centre-half-forward.
