A scintillating second half by Kevin Mitchell inspired Claremont to a powerful victory over Subiaco. After a slow start Mitchell exploded as the Tigers kicked away after the long break to win by 43 points. Claremont showed the benefit of off season recruiting with Craig Downsborough and Joe Smith in attack and Mark Brayshaw in defence. They looked similar to the 80s teams with Darrell Panizza and Dale Kickett in good touch. Adam Clark had trouble with Burton in the tap outs but had great success and won the contests around the ground.
