1992, July 24, West Australian, Story and photo “Soccer’s loss is Tigers gain”. Claremont forward Brad Wira could have easily been playing in the soccer Quit league had it not been for an eagle eyed Albany junior coach. Wira 20 played the round ball code till he was 15 then he started playing football for his school and was spotted by the North Albany coach. he was persuaded to try out for north Albany and before long was playing in the Club under 19s. Wira moved to Perth in the 1990 and graduated to Claremont league ranks through the under 19s and the reserves. He was set to start in the league ranks in 1992 but an operation on his teeth set that back . On the round 11 he was promoted to the league team and set to hold his position.
