Former All-Australian Steve Malaxos has quit the Claremont Football Club and seems certain to line up for the East Fremantle football Club in the Foundation Day Derby on Monday.   Malaxos said leaving Claremont where he was just awarded life membership, was one of the hardest decisions of his life.  He said he had to move if he wanted to force his way back into the West Coast Eagles side.  Malaxos is the third West Coast Eagle who has requested a transfer from Claremont.  In March Peter Higgins and Ryan Turnbull switched to East Fremantle and East Perth respectively.

Malaxos has been happy with his form of late but has spent longer periods on the interchange bench as Neesham preferred to play players who are available for the full season.
