1991, August 4, Published in the Sunday Times an article and photograph on Gerard Neesham – Kudos for bringing on young talent.  WA Football and Gerard Neesham deserves the kudos for bringing on young talent.  These young players include Rob Malone, Paul Burton, Dale Ballantyne, Phil Gilbert, Darren Kowal and first gamer Brenton Perry in his first game have all developed under his talent.

Demon’s coach Ken Armstrong said ” Claremont have set the benchmark in team football and this is the quality we had to aim at”.   Much of Claremont’s success can also be laid with their brilliant backline which has made rebound football in something of an artform.   Veteran footballer Darrel Panizza flanked by Dale Ballantyne and best on ground performer Burton continually run the Tigers into attack.  Also big men Nark Hepburn and Rob Fitzgerald played constructively in the ruck and centre-half-forward respectively.
