1991, August 11,  an article in the Sunday Times Newspaper “Hutton’s 13 goals sinks Bulldogs”.   A supurb performance by John Hutton of Claremont highlighted a game of contrasting fortunes at Fremantle Oval yesterday.  Hutton booted a career best of 13 goals which beat his previous best of 10 goals. The score was extremely close at half time but then South Fremantle seemed to capitulate in the second half and Claremont ran away with the win.  Two moves worked wonders in that he switched Adam Clark to a forward pocket and Kevin Mitchell to the centre.  Claremont kicked 9 goals in the third term and 10 goals in the last quarter.

Claremont’s Tony Evans would have impressed the Eagles selectors with kicking 6 goals for the Tigers.
