1990,June 18, West Australian. Photo and Story, “Tigers veteran earns his stripes” It isn’t earning a spot in the Claremont line up is not easy.. But the veteran wingman turned defender went a long way towards securing his place in the Tigers line up with a dazzling performance against Perth. Panizza who returned to Claremont from Perth this year started the game on a half back flank but was moved to the wing. His 26 possessions allowed Claremont to keep in touch with Perth and then kick away in the last quarter. Panizza had started the past 5 games on the bench and felt he had a point to prove today. Panizza was well supported by Peter Thorne, Peter Higgins, Ryan Turnbull, Tony Evans, John Annear and Joe Cormack. Others were Todd Ridley, Cam Lewis, Brian Beresford and John Scott were clear winners in the back line.
