1990, May 17 , West Australian, Photo and Story, “Reluctant Eagle in the wings “. Also photo of Bill Sutherland taping Tony Begovich before training. Tony Begovich a reluctant Eagle when he was drafter last year must be now pleased that he had a change of heart and signed with the Club. The hard working Claremont defender who took a couple of years to fulfil the promise could make his debut on Saturday for the Eagles. Begovich burst onto the football scene 1984 playing strongly in the pre season practice match against Carlton but did not make his league debut untiul the following year. Training at the Eagles is more intense that at Claremont but both are analytical coaches and that has helped me fit in.
