1989 Photos of Peter Melesso and Tony Begovich. Claremont beat East Perth after a lack luster performance the week before. During the match a head knock between Jeremy Guard and the Royal’s Nicky Yarran resulted both players unconscious.
The umpire whistled the game to stop, however Claremont kicked a goal and the Goal umpire signalled a goal. This goal was later cancelled.
There is also a story on newly appointed captain John Scott. he was in the premiership side in 1987, reached his 150 milestone in 1988, then completed his 100 game at Claremont. He played 73 games for East Perth where he led their goal kicking in 1983 and 1984.
