Story 1. “Royals come out as winners with the fans”. Claremont still won by 22 points but displayed a great improvement by all players after being demolished by 90 points in the earlier game this year. Claremont’s best were Gerard Neesham, Brendan Barrows, Mark Hann, Julian Urquhart, Peter Thorne, Tony Begovich and Mark Brayshaw.
Story 2. Claremont winger Peter Davidson was having emergency surgery to his eye when working as a carpenter when a flying piece of metal hit his eye and he was rushed to hospital. The operation was successful but Davidson will miss the rest of the season.
