1988,September, West Australian, story and photo headlined ” Melesso magic”. A goal-kicking record was the last thing on Claremont spearhead’s Peter Melesso’s mind at Subiaco yesterday. Melesso kicked 9 goals in the first half of the second semi final against Subiaco-one short of the record- but failed to add a goal in the second. Warren Ralph and former East Fremantle and West Coast eagles full forward Darren Bennett share the final round with 10 goals. Coincidentally both achieved there records against Subiaco in second semi finals in 1987 and 1986 respectively.
