May 2, 1989 ” Clash over Malaxos” Dethroned, West Coast  Eagles captain Steve Malaxos hopes he can  look back on his 150th appearance for Claremont with fonder recollections than his 149th when he was taken from the ground twice.   This is indicating a much wider rift between Tiger’s coach Gerard Neesham  and the Eagles.  Other players last year involved in this clash included Ryan Turnbull, Peter Higgins and former player John Annear.

“Neesham fires up his Tigers” Claremont president Stephen Scott owes Perth coach Mal Brown a favour. Claremont felt that Neesham wouldn’t suit their image and couldn’t be appointed. Brown told Scott that Neesham was the only man for the job and had to get it. Now the players love him both on and off the field.

1988 “The Kresta Cup”. A summation of the Kresta Cup and photos of Gerard Neesham, Guy McKenna and Derek Kickett.  McKenna spoiling Karl Langdon for the ball.  Claremont won the cup and the standout player for the year was Derek Kickett who received 46 Sandover points but was disqualified as he was reported.
