Amid a barrage of bone crunching tackles and freak goals Subiaco re-emerged as a premiership threat with a 2 point win over Claremont. Coming off a 4 game losing streak the Lions were indebted to the Eagles for releasing Laurie Keene and Karl Langdon.  The Tigers did hit back through the skills of Ben Allan, Peter Thorne and Don Pyke.  Claremont had a chance to steal the game in the final seconds but Taylor intercepted a handball from Ben Allan to Gerard Neesham who was running at the goals.
