When Gerard Neesham commenced at Claremont Oval last year it started a new era. It altered the football lives of many players who are now some of the game’s most promising stars. Reliable defender Grant Povey is just one of the many Claremont players who found themselves with new roles to play the Tigers record breaking premiership year in Neesham’s inaugural year of coaching.
Povey a forward throughout his junior year and in early games for Claremont was converted into a disciplined and skillful defender. Now the converted left footer is on the verge of another achievement. Barring injury he will play for WA against South Australia on may 24.
