Young Claremont rover Don Pyke boosted his State team prospects with a brilliant performance to lift Claremont to victory over Swan Districts.  The talented footballer-cricketer and Brian Sutherland who also did his State prospects no harm gave the Tigers tremendous drive through the midfield.

While Tiger coach Neesham settles the newcomers into his style of play, the form of centreman Ben Allan, Tony Beers and Mike Aitken would have pleased him.  Peter Melesso, Mark Brayshaw and John Hutton were great in the forward line.  Cam Lewis was excellent as usual while Tony beers, Grant Povey and Peter James starred in defence.

The second story was Tigers win match but not respect.  The play from Claremont last year was explosive but this year so far it has been anything but. Claremont’s dominance of the first half on Saturday stemmed from excellent work from Brian Sutherland.
