1983 Graham Moss retired from playing league football for Claremont.  He remained the coach of Claremont, however, during 1985, he felt the league team had problems at Centre-half-forward and decided to play one further game of football.

Having Moss in the side lifted Claremont and they were leading against the ladder leaders East Fremantle at three quarter time.  Sadly, they did not have the legs and were over-run in the last quarter.  Best players for Claremont were Peter Davidson and Michael Mitchell
