1980s 21-year-old Ray Smith a top recruit for Claremont. Recruit Ray Smith was selected to play the first game in 1979 after arriving from Kukerin following Claremont’s Ross Ditchburn. Smith started as a wingman and Moss say a talented Ruck-rover in him and he was moved to this position and stayed a follower.
Smith played 53 games between 1979 – 1985.
