1980 Football Budget.  Heading “Improved Tigers set for showdown” Claremont and Swans were due to play for the first time this season and both have lost only one game. Claremont are an improved side this year in form and attitude.  They have players on the ball and across the centre-line needed to hold the Swand team who specialise in maintaining a full game of pressure.  Claremont have the Krakouer brothers, Lindsay Kanther and Gary Shaw with the firepower around the ground.   Their centreline of Darrell Panizza, Wayne Blackwell and Alan Daniels has had a big influence on the team’s football.  Claremont also has top forwards in Warren Ralph and Brett Farmer.

In the story is three photographs of Robbie Melville, Herman Van De Beek and Baden Harper.
