1979, March 2 & 3 The West Australian, Photo and story ” Footballers flee as gang wreck home”  Photo of george Duerden of North Fremantle looks at the damaged window of the house.

Two stories: 1: Four car loads of youths ransacked the North Fremantle home of three Claremont footballers early yesterday causing thousands of dollars in damage.  The youths were armed with an axe and iron bars smashed almost every window in the house which is owned by the Claremont Football Club. Brothers Philip and Jim Krakouer and another footballer neil Williams were living in the house at the time.  They believe the raid was by family members who were jealous of their success.

Story 2 is “Tigers show their claws”.  Claremont inflicted a masterful defeat on a poorly equipped Subiaco in a one sided scratch match.  From the start Graham Moss and rover Jim Krakouer ably assisted by Kim Craig took control of the ruck. Mark Carlon and Norm Uncle scored early goals.  Norm Uncle scored 10 goals and other scorers were Phil Krakouer, Kim Trew.  The Krakouer Brothers reigned supreme.
