1979, June 23 The West Australian, story and photo under headline ” In from the cold”.  Norm Solomons commiserates with Jim Krakouer before training at Claremont Oval.  Opportunities come in various ways and Norm Solomons took his when Jim Krakouer was suspended for a week in May.  Solomons was feeling out in the cold in the reserves in the first six weeks of the season.  Solomons when the opportunity to replace Krakouer came  he took it.  He was out to prove himself again and did so in such convincing style that he retained his spot the following week.  Now Solomons is one of the sides most reliable players.
