A desperate Claremont side succeeded in holding off a spirited challenge by Subiaco in an unexpected interesting and entertaining game at Subiaco. It was in doubt till the final siren and Claremont scraped in by 8 points. In winning Claremont are assured of playing in the second semi final. It will now depend on Claremont’s game against Perth next week to see if they finish on top of the table and earn $10,000 for being minor premiers. Once again the Claremont rovers Jim and Phil Krakouer provided the impetus. Claremont would have been in trouble if it wasn’t for their half back line. Ken Hunter, Brad Reynolds and Robbie Melville. Alan Daniels was also in top form
