1971 , Newspaper Photo and story “Tigers Claws Clipped, Teeth dulled – but still snarly’.

The photo is of the injured players Jeff Serjeant, Charlie Lane, Lindsay Carroll and Lorne Cook.  Two weeks previous Claremont had just scored the best win of their season and were sitting in second place and poised to play in the second semi final.

Last night the players now trained for perhaps the second last time of the season.  Marshall had dark sunglasses to cover his eyes after suffering concussion last week. Russell Reynolds, Jeff Sergeant and Bruce Duperouzel are all suspect to play this week. Claremont were preparing for the last ditch fight to regain a place in the four.
