1965 Newspaper story regarding the Mighty Monts and the Heroic McIntosh a late casualty.  This newspaper clipping in an album belonging to  John Parkinson’s family. In the attached story it covers the Claremont team coming from behind to defeat the ladder leaders East Perth in the last minutes at Perth Oval.

In some amazing scenes in the last 10 minutes east Perth’s Brian MacGregor playing his 150th game crashed into the boundary fence and was led off the field with 10 minutes to go.  Only a minute later Claremont champion John McIntosh was stretchered off and this left both teams with 17 men to finish the game.   The big move made by Claremont coach Jim Conway was to move McIntosh to centre half forward at half time and the exciting McIntosh took 12 marks and kicked 5 goals in the second half.
