Claremont trailed Perth throughout the first three quarters to fight their way to a courageous win. Jim Conway displayed his skill as a masterful tactician and an inspired leader. Claremont won with a masterful display by Ian Brewer, Ian Brayshaw and John Fairbrass. At one stage Brewer had 4.5 goals out of Claremont’s 4.7.
