1964 Newspaper Headline ” Cook Breaks Down; Mumme to lead Claremont”.
A strained right calf muscle prevented Lorne cook from finishing training lat night at Claremont Oval in front of 2000 fans. Cook was declared unfit, however Wayne Harvey and John Dethridge were declared fit for this week. Later supporters heard that les Mumme will return to the side and has not played a full league game since July 4. The loss of Cook created problems for Conway and he has switched Ken Mann onto a half forward flank and recalled Keren Guard.
