1964, June Newspaper headlines “K. Clune hero for Claremont” with a photo of Clune.

Kevin Clune capped a brilliant comeback win he inspired Claremont for a brilliant 6 goal victory over Perth.  The “Old battler” was back to his best with 4 goals and it was 15 minutes after the siren went before he could battle his way through supporters to the rooms.

His courage and his ability to get the kicks when it most counted won him top votes among Claremont’s brilliant team mates.

Other players were Wayne Harvey with 6 goals, John Dethridge 5 goals and Clune 4 goals.   Other top players were John McIntosh, Alan Mycock, Les Mumme and John Fairbrass.
