14th July 1949 the Claremont Football Club sent a team away to go through Kalgoorlie, Launceston, Hobart, Melbourne to Perth. The group went by train and plane for the tour and these photos were taken by Jack Reeves who labelled and kept them and handed them to his daughter.
These photos were of the TAA airline Thomas Mitchell which flew the tour party from Tasmania to Melbourne. The plane flew at 9000 feet height and 245 miles per hour ground speed.
