1949 Claremont Football Club was on tour by train in Southern Cross.  The squad called it the “Gibson Express” and a photo of the train and getting off the train were Gibson, Moloney and “Silver” Smith.

Claremont Football Club  had arranged for a team of players and officials  to tour through Kalgoorlie, Launceston, Hobart and Melbourne and back to Perth.  The group went by train and plane for the tour and these photos were taken by Jack Reeves who labelled and kept them and later handed them to his daughter.

The officials were:

GIBSON, Melvin Joseph (Mallee)   Played 58 games for Claremont between 1938 to 41 on touring party.

George Michael ‘Specka’ Moloney..  Played 190 games for Monts from 1927-45, scoring 555 goals and he was now the coach.

SMITH, Glenville Baker “Silver”  Played 113 games for Claremont between 1926 and 1941 now on the   Committee
