Jack Reeves, not a tall ruckman by today’s standards, was a lion- hearted toiler who always seem to leave his best games for those when most was at steak in the team. In the 1940 Grand Final Jack despite his failing eyesight, led the ruck and the team in an outstanding display of courage and skill.  ‘Jack’ Reeves  was a fine ruckman for Claremont in 96 WANFL games between 1936 and 1941 and in 1946. He was a key member of the Monts’ three successive Grand Final-winning teams from 1938 to 1940, overcoming eyesight problems to produce displays of consummate courage and skill when it mattered most.

BERMINGHAM, Brendan Doyle       Played 49 games 1936 to 1939 also played 8 games for St. Kilda in 1944.

A product of goldfields club Mines Rovers, talented half forward and  totalled 59 goals. In 1937 and for part of the 1938 season he played back at Mines Rovers. His career highlights included representing WA in a win over SA at Subiaco Oval in 1936 and playing in the Claremont’s 1939 premiership-winning team. In 1944, while stationed in Melbourne during his military service, Bermingham played eight games and kicked one goal for St Kilda in the VFL.
