1989 ‘Know your Club’ and “Tigers men show their loyalty”.  Claremont has had great help from 79 year old boot-studder Percy Smith. His brother Glen played 110 games for Claremont in the 1920s, however, work commitments prevented Percy from playing.  Also Senior property man Jack Watkins who has been at Claremont for over 30 years.  Jack’s two assistants were John Wimbridge and Colin Creed.  Peter Cassidy joined as a trainer in 1973 when he arrived from the UK and asked to help at the football but did not realise it was Australian Rules,  He has been there 16 years now.  Fell trainer Merv Nitschi had been there 10 years himself. he was invited in by Ron Chapman, Claremont’s current head trainer and Alan (Pop) Shaw.  Photos of Merv Nitschi doing some strapping on Peter Thorne and Peter Cassidy giving Billy Krakouer a rub-down.
