Tigers sweat on Vic swap. A decision by Bill Barrot of Richmond will decide if Claremont get St. Kilda centreman and duel Brownlow medallist Ian Stewart. Currently a swap is being negotiated by those two clubs for a swap. If Barrot stays with Richmond then Stewart will almost certainly join Claremont.
January 1971 “Parkinson in Melbourne” John Parkinson will play in Victoria this year but not necessarily with the Club which offers the most money. The Sandover medallist could possibly go to St. Kilda alongside john McIntosh. Other Clubs to speak or indicate they would speak to him include North Melbourne, Geelong, Hawthorn, Richmond, Essendon and St. Kilda.
“Clearance in jeopardy” Parkinson’s decision to join Collingwood could put his transfer in jeopardy. Claremont wish to swap Parkinson with Essendon rover Bob Greenwood.
